… to everyone that I never got an RSVP from us.
I now understand your pain.

Oh so tasty!
Hi – this is Mike…you know the groom-to-be.
We finally narrowed down the beer, w00p. We decided to go with Rogue for all of our beer mainly because we like Rogue and well Jana was always wanting the hazelnut brown nectar. Why did it take us so long to figure out the beer? Well as you all know we like our beer and in this day and age there are quite a few good beers to choose from. We had to figure out beers that were: tasty, wouldn’t break the bank and also wouldn’t kill our guests after having two pints of it (i.e. no imperial beers). Are final selections are:
Kell’s Irish Style Lager – A very nice lager that has some taste to it but is very approachable
Hazelnut Brown Nectar – A super easy to drink brown that isn’t too sweet and not too bitter.
Shakespeare Stout – A very nice stout (although it is even better nitro’d, imho) that has a bit of bitterness but overall is pretty tame and gets better as it warms up a little bit
We are not completely sure if three kegs will be too much or too little (probably too much). But just in case we are also going to be buying a few cases of backup beer so even if we tap the kegs there will still be beer to drink.
We look forward to sharing a pint with y’all.
We have had a few questions about dressing to the nines.
You can read about it, here. Most girls will be happy about it, most guys might have issues.
“What!? A tie? Does that mean a suit?”
Hey all!
Below is a link to our photographer’s blog. Here, they have posted some pictures that they have taken recently of our venue, Sodo Park by Herban Feast.
I wanted to put this link up, just so I can get all of you more excited about coming to our little shindig.
P.S. Please, oh please, RSVP.
Wow! How time flies… blah blah blah…
We solidified the menu today! It will be absolutely delicious! There will be 3 types of served appetizers, one salad, two different entree choices, and a whole bunch of alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks. Depending on how people RSVP (hem hem), there could be an option for a vegetarian choice. And a kid choice.
Some one has to think about the kids. I guess that we even have an option for a kid station with construction paper and crayons (we said no to that).
We also booked our hotel for the couple nights after the ceremony. It will be kind of weird staying in a fancy hotel when our house is only a few miles away. But that is how these things work sometimes…
Mike got his ring! He has been trying to open beer bottles with it (it is made of tungsten) but so far no luck. It apparently hurts, a lot, to even attempt to pop off the bottle cap.
And please RSVP. Please. Pretty please? I mean really, I just want to make sure I get enough food for everyone.
It is almost like we planned it…
We sent out the invitations on 1/19/2010.
The hotel is confirmed, you can now call. Information is on the “Places to Stay” page.
You can also RSVP.
Wow. This shindig might actually happen!
Yay! We finally (almost) have this done with!
Please go and visit the “Places to Stay” page… It will give you information about the awesome hotel with an awesome deal for us.
Just a warning… You can’t technically book this hotel yet as I haven’t sent the contract back to them. That happens later today. I will update this site when you can book.
Current projects include the RSVP functionality of this website and finding the hotel at which I will get a group rate.
As far as the RSVP functionality goes…. The always crazy busy Mike is working on getting this done. We couldn’t find an RSVP function that would work well with WordPress so he is just making it for us. The plan is to make the RSVP functionality available to the general public after we get it finished. After this gets done, we will be able to send out the invites.
As far as the hotels… It is down to two different places: The Doubletree Arctic Club or the Alexis Hotel. I thought that it was going to be the Doubletree but they have all of a sudden been quite slow to respond to me (you know, with no response at all). So we will see. The rate will be somewhere between $130-$150 per night. I will book a chunk of 10 rooms for one night and then you guys can book more from there with the same rate.
I just have to wait until Mike is able to finish the RSVP functionality, and then we can send out the invitations! Yay! They turned out sooooo well. They are so deliciously Mike and I, it is amazing.
I know you will all be impressed. It is also pretty cool to know that they turned out so well, and the invitation designer hadn’t done something like this before. That goes to show that she IS that cool. Not only did she think outside the box, but she was able to execute. Nice.
